12/14 Forest Park Winter Vine Sweep
Join NYC Parks and The Forest Park Trust for a winter vine sweep in Forest Park's natural areas. Volunteers will hike on our trails and remove harmful vines from our trees and shrubs before they leaf out this spring. We'll also discuss basic forest structure and the importance of biodiversity. Come dressed in warm layers and sturdy boots or shoes.

Turn plants into prints in this family-friendly and earth-friendly creative workshop. We’ll show you how to use affordable household materials and the power of the Sun to imprint your chosen plant or image onto paper. Fables For the Future: Lights-Out
Join us at the Norte Maar “Lattice Views” Mural near the handball courts, for firefly origami and arts activities, plus learn about the exciting world of firefly communication and life cycles. Firefly processional starts at 6:30pm and leads to a 15-20 min dance performance inspired by firefly flight patterns, firefly mythology and folklore, and the factors leading to their population decline.
This piece is produced by Norte Maar, Julia Gleich/Gleich Dances (a NYC Department of Transportation Space Activation Partner). This project is an extension of Norte Maar’s Free Kids Art, produced in partnership with the Arlington Branch of the Brooklyn Public Library, NYC Parks & The Forest Park Trust
